The deal is the most expensive transfer ever received by a Greek club. Breaking the previous record of £16.6m paid by Wolves to sign Daniel Podence from Olympiacos in 2020.

“He wants to play in the Premier League and we are excited about what he can bring to the team.” Brighton manager Fabian Herzeler said.

“He will provide us with a different option in attack and we are looking forward to helping him adapt to his new surroundings.”

If Kostoulas is paid an additional £1.7m during his time at Brighton. It would be a new club record for a Greek player. Beating the £30.63m Napoli paid Roma for Kostas Manolas in 2019.

Greece U21 international Kostulas will make his senior debut in 2024 after rising through the Olympiacos academy.

The young striker was a key player in Olympiacos’ 2024 UEFA Youth League triumph. Beating Inter Milan and Bayern Munich on their way to the final. Where they then lifted the trophy by beating AC Milan.

Kostulas scored seven goals in 22 league games for the first team last season.
